PESHAWAR: The first-ever research fair in a public sector medical college of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held in the Khyber Medical College here the other day.

The function was organised by the KMC’s Community Medicine Department and Social Welfare Society. Besides KMC, the medical students of Ayub Medical College, Rehman Medical College, Peshawar Medical College, Kohat Medical College and Jinnah Medical College participated in the fair and presented their research projects.

Speaking on the occasion, KMC principal Prof Ejaz Hassan Khan highlighted the importance of research in the medical field. Head of Department of Community Medicine Prof Bushra Iftikhar said that in order to develop a positive attitude for research in undergraduates, the department had been conducting research by the fourth year medical students for the last 30 years, but now it had been more organized and improved.

The research fair was organised to acknowledge and encourage the efforts of undergraduate medical students in the field of research.
