KARACHI: A 10-day annual summer basketball coaching camp for youth commenced at the Arambagh floodlit court on Friday.

The duration of the camp has been curtailed this year due to holy month of Ramazan which is likely to start from June 19, Karachi Basketball Association (KBA) secretary Abdul Nasir said.

Thirty under-14 beginners who reside in adjoining areas will go through basic drills under the guidance of experts from 7pm to 10pm daily.

The panel of coaches comprised Mumtaz Ahmed, Tariq Hussain, Zainul Abedin and Ashraf Yayha.

The camp was formally inaugurated by Sindh Olympuc Association (SOA) vice-president Engr Syed Mahfooz-ul- Haq.

Speaking on the occasion he advised the camp trainees to focus on their studies besides giving time to extra- curricular activities.

The SOA secretary Ahmed Ali and Sindh Basketball Association official Abid Iftikhar Malhi were among others who were present on the occasion.
