LAHORE: The Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) on Friday held countrywide protests and rallies against ethnic killing of Rohingya Muslims in Burma.
The largest demonstration was staged at Chauburji Chowk in the Punjab capital.
A large number of students, traders, lawyers and members of the civil society participated in the protest.
Speaking to them, JuD emir Hafiz Saeed called upon Prime Minister Nawaz Shraif to take notice of ethnic cleansing of Burmese Muslims and murder of innocent women, children and elderly people and summon a meeting of leaders of all Islamic countries to resolve the issue.
He said the most unfortunate part was that the United Nations and its Security Council failed to take any notice of these killings.
Hafiz Saeed said that conspirators behind the bombing in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan should mend their ways and play role for resolving the Burma issue.
He criticised the international community for their silence on genocide of Muslims in Burma, Kashmir and Palestine.
He also criticised the social media campaign through which pictures of beheaded innocent Muslims were being showed to the world.
TIUP: The Tanzim Ittehad-i-Ummat also observed a protest day against the killing of Burmese Muslims.
