LADDAH: At least 19 suspected militants were killed and seven others injured when security personnel hit back after an attack on a checkpost in South Waziristan’s Laddah tehsil, adjoining North Waziristan.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations statement issued on Monday, seven security personnel were killed and seven others injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up during the attack on Preghal post.


Security forces kill 19 militants, including five of their leaders, in counter-attack


In the retaliatory attack, at least 19 militants, including five of their ‘commanders’, were killed. Seven militants were injured and one was captured.

Azam Tariq , a spokesman for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan’s Mahsud chapter, claimed responsibility for the attack on the checkpost.
