Our recent import, Imran Abbas is going places: after filming his recent Bollywood venture Jan Nisar, the actor is now in Turkey on an invitation by his musician friend Ersin Faikzade, reported Turkey based BGNNews.

The actor who gained fame from dramas like Meri Zaat Zaraye Benishaan, and Mujhe Hai Hukme Azaan is also interested to become the next Behlul (from hit Turkish serial Ishqe Mamnoon) by trying his hand in Turkish films.

“I would love to take part in Turkish cinema. I would like our countries to become closer culturally, which will only be possible with joint projects between Turkish and Pakistani artists,” said Imran.

Given the immense popularity of Turkish dramas like Ishqe Mamnoon and Fariha in Pakistan, we're sure the audience would highly appreciate a convincing dubbing rather than an accented voice-over.

Coming from a background of arts and architecture, Imran added that he was looking forward to exploring the architectural sites in Turkey and that the culture bore a lot of semblance with many Pakistani traditions: “We Pakistani people like Turkey and the Turkish people, we have [a lot of] common culture and history.”

It was interesting to note that the Turkish news website referred to Imran as a Bollywood actor, which shows the need for Pakistan to export its TV dramas on an ever wider scale. Imran has a substantial body of work on Pakistani television, and it's a pity that people only know him as the actor from Creature 3D.

Imran further stated that he would be shooting a video song in Urdu and Turkish with the Turkish singer: "We have a joint project with Ersin Faikzade. We are planning to shoot a video for a song in Urdu and Turkish."

Imran can nowadays be seen in dramas Alvida and Mera Naam Yusuf Hai.
