ABBOTTABAD: Muqaddas Ashraf overwhelmed Zoya Khalid 3-1 to add another title to her collection by winning the Sixth National Women’s Squash Championship trophy at the Jansher Khan Squash Complex here on Monday.

In the final of the tournament which was jointly-organised by the KP Squash Association and KP Sports Directorate and attracted top sixteen players from all over the country, Muqaddas needed just 32 minutes to see off Zoya’s challenge.

Zoya was hampered by pain in her ankle as Muqaddas used her height to full advantage, winning 11-7, 11-6, 7-11, 11-5.

Elsewhere, Saim Tariq defeated Abdullah 3-0 to claim the boys’ Under-19 crown but lost 3-1 to his brother Shah Zeb Tariq in the main category. In the veterans’ category, Imran defeated Qaiser Khan 3-1.
