Bangladesh inflict humiliating 79-run defeat on India

DHAKA: Bangladesh beat India for only the fourth time in 30 one-day internationals (ODIs) and took a big step on Thursday to qualifying for the 2017 Champions Trophy.
Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman became the second Bangladeshi bowler to claim five-for on his debut in the comfortable 79-run win at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
The teenager ran through the much-vaunted India lineup with 5-50, as the visitors were bowled out for 228 in 46 overs in pursuit of 308.
Mustafizur's menacing cutter proved to be decisive, despite India's openers giving them a solid 95-run start.
Bangladesh rode Tamim Iqbal's 60, Soumya Sarkar's 54, and Shakib Al Hasan's 52 to post its highest score of 307 against India.
Bangladesh last beat India in the 2012 Asia Cup, and most recently lost in the Cricket World Cup quarterfinals.
The victory put Bangladesh in great position to rise above West Indies into seventh place in the ODI world rankings, and qualify for the Champions Trophy after missing the last two.

Nepotism, friends, lack of merit in selection, quotas based on zones & cronies make up this team!.
If Indians follow the rules of how team members are selected by Australian cricket board, 90% of this team wouldn't be playing!!!.

bangladesh have 8 odi matches fixtures before 30 September 2015 for champion trophy qualification. at present west indies is on 7th rank with 88.30 points and Bangladesh at 8th rank with 88.12 points and Pakistan at 9th rank. Also neither Pakistan nor west indies have odi fixture up to 30 September. but Bangladesh has 8 Odis before 30 September and even if Bangladesh wins 2 matches out of 8 matches then it will climb to 7 th rank and west indies will slip to 8th rank. both west indies and Pakistan don't have any fixtures up to 30 sept. while writing this comment bangladesh have beaten India and so now Bangladesh needs only one match to win out of their remaining 7 matches before 30 Sept

Though Bangladesh has weakness in test, it has emerged as one of the deadliest teams in ODI. This victory against India is seen as sweet revenge of controvertial win of India. The team will fight in next two games

I think we as Pakistanis should take it lightly if we are not playing champion trophy; we are already isolated enough from international cricket; we can also take it easy since whole world is playing IPL and we are not; thanks to them that we can bear this too; the main thing is BD has beaten India and this also means that Pakistan team wasn't gone so weak rather BG has improved a lot

BTW, what's truly admirable about both Pakistan and BD cricketers is they don't request " VIP luxury suites" and ultra exclusive upscale accommodations which these Indian cricketers have been demanding since they arrived in Dhaka ... now maybe their inflated egos will get back to normal and they will quit this "diva-esque" juvenile mentality! India has come to Bangladesh by studying the old syllabus on Bangladesh. They don't have clear idea whom they have come to play against. Pakistan sent a fragile team and got the result, but unfortunately India was so busy with IPL that they did not get time to scrutinize what was going on with BD & PK matches. India plays with 5 batsmen (Dhoni has stopped being a batsman long back). Out of which two are seriously out of form (Rahane in ODI and Virat in all forms). You can't expect to win with just 3 batsmen. Moreover bowling was lackluster. Indians are playing as if they dint want to come here. Won't be surprised to see 3-0. Congratulations BD. Well played.

As Bangladeshis we are happy to see the Tigers win but we should not be carried away. India is very good team. They will come back with full force, we need to keep cool and remain focused. Bangladesh has shown great improvement, we need to maintain and improve further. Pakistan is a great cricket playing nation, they are now having a lean period this phase is also temporary. Pakistan will again bounce back.
We are grateful to all Indian and Pakistanis who have recognized and expressed their happiness over the improvement of Bangladeshi cricket. Greats like Sunil Gavasker , Wasim Akram and others have always provided positive inputs for the progress of our cricket. Our sincere gratitude to all who have helped Bangladesh cricket improve.

Well Played Tigers! India is a strong team and I am sure they will bounce back but they will be under tremendous pressure to win the next two games and that will help our tigers to hunt them down.
I am sure Bangladesh will look ahead to win the next two games to complete the Banglawash.
Bangladesh also would love to qualify for the champions trophy next season by beating India at least one more time.
We won't look back but play fearless cricket against the giants.
