SWABI: Local leaders of tripartite alliance have stated that it was clear from the ‘rigged’ May 30 local government elections that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had miserably failed to deliver.

They said this in a joint meeting held here the other day to form a future line of action to give a tough time to the ruling party. They also discussed a strategy to develop cooperation among workers of the alliance, including Awami National Party, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl and Pakistan Peoples Party.

Ameer Rehman, ANP district president and nominee for the district nazim slot, said that they had to meet the expectations of people through a joint strategy. JUI-F district chief Attaul Haq Darvaish said that a working environment among the three parties was already there.

The local leaders vowed to keep their alliance intact in Swabi district, and work together to expose those who had deceived people with the slogan of ‘change’. They said that their respective party leaders had made a demand almost similar to the one made by PTI chief in Islamabad following the 2013 general elections. They said that the KP government should first resign as it had failed to hold fair and transparent elections in the province. They also said that there should be a caretaker setup to hold elections under the judiciary.

ANP, JUI-F leaders say rigging has exposed PTI’s slogan of change

Mr Ameer claimed that the nation knew that the PTI and Awami Jamhoori Ittehad Pakistan had misled the people in past. Awal Sher Khan, former provincial forest minister, said that the LG elections had made it clear that the KP ruling parties had shattered the dreams of people.

Ghafoor Khan Jadoon, former provincial food minister, said that the slogan of change had been buried under the rigged election for ever. Javid Inqilabi, PPP district president, claimed that the tripartite alliance had proved that they could work together for people’s welfare.

Meanwhile, the people and Wapda employees of Tarbela Dam residential colonies said that they would start fasting according to the Ruet-i-Hilal Committee’s announcement from Friday (today) and celebrate Eidul Fitr with the entire country. Maqsood Khan and other employees said that people of this country needed unity and starting Ramazan and observing Eid on the same day would be helpful in this connection.
