SARGODHA: Former federal minister for human resources and development and seasoned politician Chaudhry Ghias Ahmad Mela was laid to rest on Wednesday at his native Mela village, some 45 kilometres from here.

He died on June 26 in the USA where he had gone for treatment.

The funeral was attended by PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Husain, Chaudhy Aamir Sultan Ranjha, former federal law minister Dr Khalid Ranjha, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi and PML-N MPA Abdul Razzaq Dhilon, besides many local politicians and others.
