HYDERABAD: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Tehreek (JST) observed the 1,303rd death anniversary of Raja Dahir, a ruler of Sindh, outside the local press club on Thursday and paid homage to him for his services for Sindh.

Carrying banners and party flags, they shouted slogans in favour of Raja Dahir, lit candles and showered a picture of Raja Dahir with rose petals.

Leading the procession, JST central leader Sorhiya Sindhi and Munawwar Jagirani paid homage to Raja Dahir for playing a role against religious extremism.

They said Raja Dahir sacrificed his life for Sindh. After Raja Dahir, rulers of Sindh occupied natural resources of Sindh and gave a gift of poverty to locals, they added.

The leaders said local people were deprived of basic facilities, including health and education, while nationalist activists were fighting for their rights and freedom these days.
