Shawwal moon sighted, nation to celebrate Eid on Saturday

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman announced the sighting of moon for the month of Shawwal and said that Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday.
The announcement was made by Mufti Munib after chairing the meeting of the central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee in Islamabad.
He heralded that Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, July 18.
The Ruet-i-Hilal Committee had convened earlier in a meeting to sight the moon for Eidul Fitr.
Earlier, a clutch of unofficial groups, led by Mufti Shahabuddin Populzai of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan in Peshawar, had declared on Thursday that the Shawwal crescent was sighted. Thus Eidul Fitr was celebrated in several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the tribal areas on Friday.
Eid was celebrated today in different districts of KP, including Bannu, Kohat, Charsadda, Mardan, Swat, Peshawar, and Fata’s North and South Waziristan Agency.

We should have celebrated Eid as one nation with Peshawar and other tribal areas. If the moon shows up in any part of a state, the very next day marks Eid. These religious clerks have destroyed all the means that may play a role of an ultimate unifying power.

@Nukhsn Since it was not possible to sight the moon in KP on Thursday, those who claimed they sighted, they must have sighted moon poster, moon in picture, someone by name Chand or Chand at home. Got it? :)

Its about time the two Mufti's joined forces and set up shop in the area when the moon is supposedly always sighted a day earlier than in Islamabad. After all the two Muftis live in the same country and the same time zone. We desperately need unity.

EID MUBARAK to everyone,every Muslim,everyone regardless of their faith or belief,we all deserve GODS blessings and forgiveness because HE is the most forgiving and the most merciful.There is only one moon but some are able to see it one day and the others the next day lol.What is up with that? Eid Mubarak to all! KPK has always been 1st in declaring sighting of the moon for Eid, and more often than not, it coincides with sightiing of moon in Saudi Arabia.
Why doesn't the RHC convene in Peshawar or other localities where sighting of the moon is less of an issue, the result will be more accurate and coincide with Saudi Arabia and the Muslim world would be on one page atleast for Eid.
