UN observers visit Sialkot working boundary

ISLAMABAD: On Pakistan Army's request a team of United Nations Military Observers Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) has started a fact finding mission regarding unprovoked Indian firing on civilian population inside Pakistani territory near the working boundary, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR statement said that UNMOGIP military officers visited the most affected villages today on working boundary near Sialkot due to Indian unprovoked shelling /firing.

UNMOGIP officers based in Rawalpindi flew by helicopter into the affected area.
"The UNMOGIP observers visited Saleh Pur, Chaprar and Malane in Chaprar Sector near working boundary", ISPR statement confirmed.
UNMOGIP officers met with wounded civilians and witnessed the damage caused to civilian structures in the area. Civilians of the area also narrated first hand accounts of the incidents, according to the ISPR statement.

Pakistan fully utilises the office of UNMOGIP which is in place on both sides along the Line of Control and working boundary to investigate such incidents or violations by either side as per UN resolution.
UNMOGIP observers are also offered full access in Pakistan to investigate and bring the facts in front of the world.

Dnt u people get it. After shimla agreement both sides agreed that all issues wud be solved bilaterally... there are more reasons for existance of several organisation in pak and their vitality to keep indo pak relations unstable. Pls dont fall for it... our armed forces cant fire widout civilian authority. It makes all the diff.

Killing of innocent people is sad. Nobody can verify which side started first. Solution to this problem is to start discussion after excluding controversial issues like Kashmir. Believe it or not Kashmir issue is pushing Pakistan in darkness because everytime Pakistan raise this issue it looses the chance of trade with India which not only curb the inflation but also provide more exposure to Pakistan in market. Even India can benefit from Pakistani agriculture products. Continue trade will build confidence and trust in each other and then we can discuss all controversial issues. After 67 years of following same old non productive approach I guess its worth try this one now.

Plenty of accusations,,chest thumping, hate and spit from both sides against each other. Both media picks on everything negative and splashes it in large bold front page print on main page. Need is for both countries to establish a Friendship minister dept whose only job will be to bring good news and news about small kind acts and friendship about each other. This friendship minister should be intentionally not allowed to talk about no army, no border, no Kashmir, no foreign policy, no UN, no China, no USA, no RAw, no ISI. Only news they shud spread is travel, tourism, food , festivals.

Expecting UN observers to do anything materially different this time than in past is a mirage.
Also, it's going to become increasingly difficult to get UN attention in future when more and ore western money gets invested in India.
It's better to rehabilitate population from the line to inner side just like India did than to make a sacrifice of innocent lives in the name of bigger cause.

Casualties should be reported from both sides of the border only then one could have the clear picture.Inviting UN observers would fetch you nothing.
