Squad named for World 6-Red, Team Snooker Championship

KARACHI: The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) announced on Thursday squad for the Jubilee Insurance World 6-Red and Team Snooker Championship, starting here on Aug 6.

“Overall, 18 nations including Pakistan have confirmed their participation in the event,” said PBSA chief Alamgir Shaikh while announcing the squad for the championship.

The Pakistan squad includes among others top cueists like Mohammad Yousuf, Muhammad Asif, world championship runner-up Mohammad Sajjad and reigning Asian champion Hamza Akbar besides ex-IBSF world team champion Mohammad Asif.

“Our cueists are capable of coming up with some outstanding performances in the world championship,” Alamgir said, adding that an extensive 10-day training camp of the team will commence from July 27.

Hamza Akbar, Mohammad Asif, Mohammad Sajjad, Shehram Changezi, Babar Masih, Khurram Agha, Mohammad Majid Ali, Mohammad Asif Toba, Hunain Amir, Hunain Amir, Sohail Shehzad, Shahid Aftab, Asjad Iqbal.

Team event:

Men’s: Mohammad Asif/Mohammad Sajjad, Hamza Akbar/Shehram Changezi, Shahid Aftab/Asjad Iqbal, Imran Shehzad/Sohail Shehzad Muhammad, Majid Ali/Hunain Amir, Sultan Mohammad/Aakash Rafique, Babar Masih/Mohammad Asif Toba.

Masters: Muhammad Yousuf / Naveen Perwani, Sarwer Siddiqui / Ahmed Bawany, Muhammad Mukhtar / Saqib Jamal
