HYDERABAD: Former home minister Dr Zulfikar Ali Mirza, who along with his close aides supporters had launched an aggressive campaign against former president Asif Ali Zardari and had to face police action and litigation a few months back, resumed his active politics on Thursday by joining hands with the Qaumi Awami Tehrik (QAT).

Dr Mirza, who along with his spouse had left the country for a brief period of time, returned home a few days back. On Thursday, he visited the QAT protest camp set up for 10 days against corruption and terrorism in the country. QAT chief Ayaz Latif Palijo is heading his party’s “protest sit-in” at Naseem Nagar Chowk in Qasimabad.

Speaking at the camp, Dr Mirza repeated all his allegations against Mr Zardari and the Pakistan Peoples Party saying that the PPP co-chairman and his hand-picked leaders and activists were corrupt to the core. “He along with his sister MNA Faryal Talpur and close aides was enjoying life in Dubai and London while Sindh is sinking,” he said.

He vowed to continue his struggle against injustices meted out to Sindh.

He invited the QAT and nationalist groups to join hands with him against anti-Sindh and anti-state policies, and alleged that the PPP co-chairman Mr Asif Zardari and Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain had long been working on a plot to dismember Pakistan.

Mr Palijo also spoke and criticised the PPP for indulging in massive corruption and harbouring terrorists during its tenure.
