PCB to keep eye on Amir in National T20

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be keeping a check on pacer Mohammad Amir’s performance in the forthcoming National Twenty20 Cup.
The National T20 Cup will be played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium from Sep 1 to 15 with the qualifying round being held from Sept 1 to 5 while the main event will start from Sept 8.
Talking to APP, a Rawalpindi Region official said that Amir, who was banned from the international cricket for a period of five years, was all set to make his comeback in the international cricket very soon with his ban ending in September.
He said the national team already lacked quality pace bowlers and his inclusion would help the bowling department perform well. “The PCB is keeping an eye on performance of Amir who is expected to get nod for international cricket very soon,” he said.
The official further said Amir would be representing Rawalpindi Rams in the National T20 and the region will also monitor his bowling.
“We have high hopes from the pacer and believe he will surely get a chance in the national squad before the end of this year,” he remarked.
As many as 16 teams will take part in the event providing the selectors an opportunity to witness performance of other players. “The selectors will also be watching the performance of several other young as well as senior players participating in the event,” he said.

Apart from Aamir, I think Sami Aslam must also be monitored. He is one for the future, if only PCB gives the youngster a chance.

@Hashim , he already played few matches and should play more in future. PCB has given a lot of chances to many young players after WC. Saad Nasim, Sami Aslam, Baber Azam, Imad, Rizwan to name few. Soon we will have middle order slots available in test team and we should prepare few players to replace Misbah and YK once they decide to hang their boots.

Looking at the way IPL gambling and all the known corrupt practices run unhindered there and with many players from almost all countries who play there earning money through these corrupted methods and to top it all the most corrupt man N Srinivasan still continuing as chairman of ICC, it appears in the hindsight that Aamir was made to pay such a huge price for much lesser crime. Surprisingly the police has proof of all of that I mentioned above and criminal cases being lodged against a handful of these corrupt sportsmen in the court as well but still these guys living a saintly life and still more surprisingly people show respect to them inspite of knowing everything. But it was good to see Aamir accepting his mistake and showing intent to improve himself. Hope he never repeats the same mistake and may almighty guide him to the right path. Hiding the sin has even bigger repercussions as it may corrupt next 2-3 generations of sportsmen in any state where such things happens.

also keep an eye on other activities as well, because someone may try to recollect the money wasted in legal battles and to cover previous 5 year income.

Let us not reward the guy before he can really prove e can get pakistan side players out without fixing. Right now side looks good. Do not play him like hafeez or ajmal to bowl

Amir will come back. No question about that. He got talent and class. He just got a bad company and then got punished. My ODI team after Amir would be:
Ahmed Shahzad, Azhar, Hafeez, Haris Sohail, Sarfaraz, Fawad Alam, Rizwan, Anwar Ali, Muhammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Yasir Shah.
Irfan should only be used for T20s as he got injured too frequently.

I hope and pray that he learned his lesson and will not repeat his mistake. None the less, I think he should be given a chance on merit and let him prove that himself.

I have a simple solution, stay away from anyone linked with India and India cricket, you will be ok. I am a huge cricket fan, but dont want Indian politics to influence them playing us. I want Pak to play tough opposition, not a club side, which the Indian test team has become.

Yup..Keep an eye on no balls bowled pattern as well...and best policy is check his bankbalance next day after number of NO or wide balls are bowled. If the number of no balls and wide balls bowled are directly proportional to increase in bank balance....the kid has still not learnt how to manage his finances correctly

A matcher fixer should not be given another chance, instead there are hundreds of other talented bowlers who are honest and deserve a chance. This is unfair to allow Amir, Salaman and others who are match fixer.

Give the guy a chance .. He did the crime and now has done the time .. Compassion folks .. Many many worse people than Aamir in the pakistan government but we keep electing them over and over again! Let him start afresh and see how it goes, if he is still good enough to play for the greens, good for him and us, if not so be it!
