QUETTA: The Frontier Corps seized a large quantity of arms and ammunition from the mountainous area of Haft Wali near Sibi town on Sunday.

A Frontier Corps spokesman said in a statement that FC personnel conducted a search operation in the area on a tip-off. He said the weapons had been kept in the hideouts of a banned militant organisation.

The seized items included a 75mm RR with 17 bombs, a 14.5mm gun with 21 rounds, three 107mm rockets, one RPG-7 with two rockets, eight SMGs with 2,500 rounds, eight 303 rifles with 300 rounds, 42 rounds of 12.7mm gun, 304 rounds of sniper rifle, 60 rounds of 8mm rifle, two 12-bore rifles with 110 rounds and one 30 bore pistol with 9 rounds. One telephone exchange and a motorcycle were also found.

However, no arrest was reported.
