MUZAFFARGARH: The Punjab social welfare director general on Saturday suspended from service a warden and a clerk of Darul Aman after Civil Lines police registered a case against them under act 376 Islamic law.

Sources said last week 20-year-old girl ‘S’ got shelter in Darul Aman. Warden ‘J’ allegedly forced her to go with clerk ‘F’ to his house. The clerk allegedly raped her.

The next morning the girl submitted an application to police alleging that the clerk had raped her. She also moved an application to District Coordination Officer Hafiz Shaukat Ali for taking action.

The DCO started an inquiry into the incident and issued a directive to the Darul Aman.

On Saturday, the Punjab social welfare DG suspended the warden and the clerk from service. The suspects got pre-arrest bail and manged their escape.

District Police Officer Awais Ahmad said the suspects would be behind bars soon.
