LARKANA: Girls outclassed boys in the pre-medical and humanities groups while boys outdid girls in the pre-engineering group’s result of Higher Secondary Certificate Part-II (XII) annual examination-2015 announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Larkana on Monday.

In the commerce group, students of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) clinched two out of three top positions.

According to the statistical data the BISE provided to press, only 1,046 candidates could clinch A-1 grade out of the 15,206 who took the examination in the pre-medical group. Only 1,472 were placed in A-grade, 5,150 in B-grade, 3,970 in C-grade and 476 in E-grade. The result of 599 candidates was withheld on the charges of using unfair means in the examination, the announcement said. The pass percentage was adjudged at 79.67.

Of the 10,419 candidates who appeared in the pre-engineering group, only 662 passed with A-1 grade while 904 secured A-grade, 2,795 B-grade, 2,928 C-grade and 435 D-grade. The result of 570 candidates was withheld on the charges of cheating in the examination. The pass percentage in the pre-engineering group is 74.13.

In the humanities group, out of the 3,183 who took examination, no one could clinch A-1 grade while only two candidates were placed in A-grade, 325 in B-grade, 1,392 in C-grade, 634 in D-grade and 17 in E-grade. Their pass percentage was assessed at 74.46 and the result of 336 candidates was withheld on the charges of copying.

In the commerce group, out of the 327 candidates who appeared in the examinations, no one could clinch A-1 grade and only 20 have secured A-grade, 68 B-grade, 134 C-grade and 53 were placed in D-grade. Their pass percentage was assessed at 84.10.

Position-holders

In pre-medical, Ms Sandal Chandio of SZABIST Larkana with 969 marks stood first followed by Ms Nausheen Abro of Public School Larkana who got 967 marks and secured the second position while Paras Ali Golo of Government Degree College Kandhkot with 966 marks clinched the third position.

In pre-engineering, all the first three positions went to boys. Abdul Wahab Qureshi of Behria Foundation College Jacobabad stood first with 960 marks, Faraz Ahmed Baloch of Government Degree College Larkana stood second with 959 marks while Atif Saeed Abbasi of Cadet College Larkana stood third with 958 marks.

In the humanities group, Ms Aneesa Khan of Government Arts and Commerce College Larkana got first position with 803 marks, Harisdas Modeja of Government College Jacobabad stood second with 765 marks and Ms Farzana Abro of Government Girls College Larkana obtained 762 marks and secured the third position.

In the commerce group, two top positions were clinched by the students of SZABIST Larkana: Ms Anum Shah secured the first position with 822 marks and Farhan Mirani stood second with 821 marks while Zeeshan Ahmed Shaikh of Government Arts and Commerce College Larkana stood third by securing 820 marks, the result said.
