Altaf’s negative politics hurting MQM: Asif Zardari

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari in a statement on Saturday said Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain's “negative politics” was disastrous for the MQM and urged Altaf to abstain from “unnecessary talk and statements” for better future prospects.
Commenting on Altaf Hussain’s latest telephonic address, Zardari said the MQM chief should refrain from giving out indignant remarks and levelling “allegations” on a daily basis, adding that such behaviour was not suitable.
Zardari went on to say that the MQM should include itself in mainstream politics and strive to make Sindh and Pakistan prosperous.
In the statement issued by PPP spokesperson Farhatullah Baber, Zardari said the PPP had always fulfilled its promises with the MQM – at both the federal and provincial level. But the MQM, he said, had “betrayed” the PPP and went against its promises.
Zardari said two major conditions were placed before the MQM in talks between the two political parties: to refrain from talks regarding the division of Sindh, and to cooperate in making Karachi a peaceful city.
“Our motive to keep Sindh intact is still very clear.”
Earlier this week, Zardari had lashed out at the PML-N for “repeating the politics of the 1990s” and alleged that the steps being taken by the government clearly indicated that the rulers were “dividing” the nation in an attempt “to save their natural allies Taliban and the terrorists” and to “weaken” the war against terror.

Last week, the party had decided to end its policy of reconciliation and said it would no longer be supporting the PML-N government in any political crisis after former federal minister Dr Asim Hussain was taken into custody by Rangers and warrants were issued for the arrests of Yousuf Raza Gillani and Raja Pervez Ashraf – both former prime ministers in the PPP government – on corruption charges.
On the other hand, MQM chief Altaf Hussain has also alleged more than once that Asif Ali Zardari had a “deal with the army” and that he had been deceived by the PPP co-chair.

You destroyed whole PPP and now PTI is there in sindh as PPP's alternative. First save your party from PTI because next year CM would be of PTI. Although i don't like PTI but i love to see them in sindh because they are far far better than PPP. I love MQM but if PTI addresses are grievances, i will stop supporting MQM. Please we karachiites want our Musharraf's days back, PTI please do something for us. I hope your CM would not be like Saeen.

There was a cold war initiated the very first day of this unnatural alliance, both the political parties were never sincere with each other and time and again we have seen them parting out from the alliance and then bargaining for individual favors.
Both the parties were never faithful to each other or to their loyal supporters.

Shows the maturity of Zardari; MQM'm statement on division of Sindh are irresponsible and serve no purpose. It is time for MQM to form political alliances with parties from Sindh and outside of Sindh in mainstream politics.
On another note parties from Sindh should get together and determine the economic and political impact of Gwadar port and highway built by China; as it will cut the importance of Karachi port; almost 80% of tonnage from Karachi port will be diverted towards Gwadar port. Building of this highway will be detrimental to the economy of Sindh, this is worse than the building of Kalabagh Dam. Sindh should be allocated funds to build infrastructure from Karachi to Punjab and also connect with Quetta. PPP should spearhead this effort with the consensus of other political parties of Sindh, along with MQM.

How remote has politics become from people. 60,000 killed in target killing and terror, Extortion, homes and land taken away by force, no access to justice, corruption at all levels - what leaders talk about - whether to resign from assembly, if my guy is arrested for corruption why not yours, should there be another province. The sooner they leave from the scene the better it will be.

Since last week there are more statements from AAZ while relatively AH is mum,as regards serving the people of Pak ,AAZ,AH,both failed miserably,while the people of Pak are caught in vicious circle of shortages of water,electricity,bad law & order situation,inflation,if referendum is held to describe Pak situation,the majority will vote it's a "failure"now a heavy responsibility on NS how he cope with the prevailing situation,otherwise all blame will rest on AAZ,AH,&NS.

It was PPP who created law and order problem by using Gangsters of Lyari and ANP against muhajir during Zulfikhar Mirza time,recently graph published by Dawn regarding crime in karachi which shows crime rate was less till 2008 .It was Ali Ahmed Magsi right hand of Zulfikhar Mirza who was responsible for the massacre in Shershah Kabaria market.PPP is responsible who created sense of depreciation in Urban area...and now people are demanding karachi should be given status of province..
