GWADAR: Jan Ahmed Dashti, a leader of the National Party (NP) and councillor of Gogadan Union Council, was shot dead in Dank area of Turbat on Friday.

Police sources said Mr Dashti, who was the brother of Turbat sessions judge Murad Ali Baloch, was on his way home when he came under fire.

Assailants overtook Mr Dashti’s vehicle and fired at him.

Then they dragged him out of his vehicle and pumped a volley of bullets into his body, police said.

Chairman District Council Fida Hussain Dashti and a large number of party workers gathered at the hospital on receiving information about the attack.
