DADU: A shutdown was observed in Dadu town on Sunday against SHOs of the A-Section, B-Section and CIA police stations for their alleged connivance with criminals.

Activists of various political parties along with people of the areas falling within the jurisdiction of the three police stations took out three rallies demanding removal of the SHOs.Yaseen Jamali and Sadique Jamali, speaking at one of the rallies outside the local press club, said that street crimes had been on the rise due to police-criminals connivance.

Residents of Taj Colony at another rally held urged the Dadu SSP to remove the official in charge of the CIA police station for his alleged act of letting off mugging suspects. Participants in the third rally taken out by residents of Qalandarabad, Pir Bukhsh Colony, Hyatabad and Adam Khan Solangi villages condemned heads of the three police stations for their alleged patronage of criminals.

The protesters at all the three rallies demanded that their snatched/stolen properties including vehicles be restored to them and the suspects be rearrested.

Meanwhile, the SSP has ordered 24 head-constables to report at the Police Line.
