NOWSHERA: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan while speaking to the press on Thursday said that the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) should be made a part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Imran said a separate province for Fata is not viable because a new province cannot be made near the border.
The PTI leader said the cabinet would have to consult with Fata's tribal leaders, elders and experts on the matter to reach a consensus on the issue, and discuss how the "old British system" could be done away with.
He said the people of Fata should be given the opportunity to become a part of Pakistan and be given their due rights.

'Kissan package biggest pre-poll rigging'
The PTI Chairman strongly criticised the Election Commission of Pakistan. "Why did they not allow us to campaign for NA-122 by-polls?" he asked.

"Nawaz Sharif's kisaan package is the biggest pre-poll rigging," he said. "If he wanted to announce a package, why didn't he put it in the budget? It is gimmickry to say that the province will pay for half the cost of fertiliser. The province doesn't have any money ─ It's been dispersed already, so how can they pay for it? If he was sincere about the package, he would have announced a relief package when the budget came out."

Corruption cases
"When you go after money used to finance terrorism, money collected through corruption goes alongside it," Imran claimed.
Referring to the PPP, Imran said, "They’re telling them to hold off and exerting pressure on Nawaz, who is telling his ministers to go easy on them," adding, "The masses want accountability from the corrupt people ─ who are looting this country and buying Rs4.3 billion worth of property in Dubai in two years."
"The Rangers should not be doing this; it is not the Rangers' job — it is the government's job," he said.
"I only took action against Ziaullah Afridi after he started hurling accusations at everyone in the party and blackmailing them," he said.
"If there were corruption charges against him, he should have come forward with them. This is just like Zardari and Nawaz, they both accuse each other of being corrupt. This is not the way things are done in a democracy," Khan said, adding that Afridi's duty was to clear his own name.
"This happens in KP because our NAB is free and won't spare anyone," he explained.

Good stand and great suggestion. The people living in KPK and FATA speak same language and share same traditions and by all means of definitions, they are Pashtuns, so in new realities, they needed to be united and not allowed to continue to be divided. The people who support divisions on any ground, simply want to divide nations e.g. Punjabis, Sindhis, Balochis, Pashtuns, which are like a garland of federation known as PAKISTAN.

The Tribals have wanted high levels of independence! We need to respect them and not cause divisions in this decisive moment, furthermore the Army is currently operating in those areas! We need another 10-15 years of a federally administrated KPK!

Two things mainly comes out after Budget announcement.
1. more inflation
2. relief packages which never usually felt by the people.
As soon as I read the news yesterday, I immediately said, it's a pre-poll rigging. But surprise to read the comments from people who doesn't understand it at all.

Pakistan is a federation of four provinces and four nationalities and they are Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashtuns and Baluch. All cultures and languages should be given equal status. If we would have done the same before separation of East Pakistan, today Jinnah's Pakistan would be living as a glorified nation.

Well The issue whether should remain as independent province or make it a part of KP is pretty complex. If we look at the prospect of merging it with KP province then we are repeating the same step of Northern and Southern Punjab. The issue of unequal resource distribution as it is famously and i think rightly criticized by many politicians including Imran Khan. On the other hand i do not agree with Imran Khan's near the border territory reason with for Separate province. But there are other reasons that make the choice of separate province unrealistic the like of which are very distributed geographically distribution of FATA Agencies. First of all i can not think of a provincial capital city that is feasible for all seven FATA Agencies.

@Jalbani Baloch Can be possible but then the Districts of DI Khan, Tank, Haripur, Abotabad, Mansehra, Battgram, Kohistan, Chitral, and parts of Swat also need to be taken away from KPK as they are not pushtun and a part of Baluchistan should be added to KPK at the same time based on your suggestions.

It only makes sense.What people in FATA want, is exactly what everyone else wants; law and order and decent standard of living which can only come in an environment where there is transparency and accountability. KP offers that increasingly by the day. Of course, the people's consensus should support this move. Give a time frame of say 6 months to one year and have a referendum, under the EPC (after the removal of the current corrupt and inept officials.

He annexed tribal areas adjacent to Balochistan into Balochistan and his mandate was to do same in KP (then NWFP). PPP/ANP Govts reversed changes made by Governor Awais Ghani and brought back Political Agents and levies.

Kindly start involving other people in your dictatorship and start using 'we' instead of 'I' and everything will work just fine for you. Your 'me-ism" is the only thing that prevented me from supporting you and then turncoats came into play and joined you in throngs having recognized a trait only kept close to their hearts. Consequently you don't stand a chance of support by me or the like ever.
You didn't take a chance in the by-election in NA122 and that was a wise choice since having lost there you could've been out of politics altogether. Although the results are unbeknown to us but predictions are that you couldn't have won in any case. My close associates who voted for you from NA122 have no intentions of voting for you again.

Those who say that IK have not done any developments in KPK don't belong to KPK. First visit KPK. See the difference yourself. Check the opinion of the people. Go to any government department. Evaluate the performance of the employees. You will be surprised. It is neither Sindh where Bhotto is controlling everything nor punjab where sharif family is the Supreme authority and also not Balochistan where the feudal lords have oppressed the people. In kpk the power is with people. They decide their leadership and they evaluate their performance.

I have lot of regards for Imran Khan Niazi Sahib but he has absolutely no idea what FATA is and what it's people represent.
People of FATA are very distinct from rest of KPK in traditions and in pursuance of "Pakhtunwali" the code by which Pakhtuns live by.
The funds for FATA disappear in Peshawar. People of FATA do not live under Pakistan Penal Code but rather under Frontier Crimes Regulations.
Most importantly FATA has been victim and facing collateral damage of war in terror.
Therefore to appease people of FATA it is imperative and needs to become a separate province.
Not only that they will build FATA themselves to come into main stream of politics of Pakistan and not follow the clause of "Revenge" for harm rendered to them directly or indirectly by the authorities in conducting "War on Terror " in FATA.
So Imran Khan Niazi Sahib should either do philanthropy or keep to matters of KPK and Pakistan in general. FATA is beyond his and his none tribal advisors.
FATA needs to become a separate Province.
