UPPER DIR: Sahibzada Waqas Ahmad, the son of Jamaat-i-Islami parliamentary leader in National Assembly Sahibzada Tariqullah, died and his four relatives were injured in a road accident near Dir town on Sunday evening.

Waqas along with his cousins had gone to a nearby scenic place. Their vehicle met an accident Panakot area when they were coming back.

The vehicle, a land cruiser, rammed into a truck, parked on the roadside.

Waqas Ahmad, a student of 10th grade in Pakturk School Peshawar, died on the spot. A hospital official said that he had already expired when he was brought to the hospital.

The injured were identified as Sahibzada Mutasim Billah, the son of newly elected district nazim Sahibzada Fasihullah, Sahibzada Fawad Ahmad, Sahibzada Jawad and Sahibzada Zeeshan.

A large number of people rushed to the district headquarters hospital soon after the accident. Sahibzada Tariqullah and his wife are in Saudi Arabia for performing Haj. —Correspondent
