KOHAT: Adviser to the chief minister on youth affairs Amjad Afridi inaugurated a solar power unit for Shadikhel water supply scheme and announced construction of an intermediate college for girls in the area.
During the inaugural ceremony here, Afridi said synchronisation of priorities by local government representatives and parliamentarians was necessary to resolve the people’s problems.
He said the elected representatives should know about the people’s problems before finding their solutions.
“MPs and councillors should be aware of the problems of their respective areas to ensure corrective measures are taken,” he said.
The adviser said he got sanctioned gas supply for his constituency from the federal government but an MNA moved the high court insisting it was a federal subject.
He said approval had also been granted to the carpeting of Mohallah Kalan Road at a cost of Rs10 million, replacement of rusted water pipes at a cost of Rs3 million and installation of new transformers and poles in the area.

They said as soon as the Kohat local government got its due funds from the provincial government, efforts to address the people’s basic problems, especially those related to roads and water supply, would begin.
