SWABI: Local leaders of PML-N told a meeting of workers here on Sunday that the federal government had decided to establish a passport office in Swabi.

Party’s district president Iftikhar Ahmad and general secretary Dildar Khan said that their efforts for the establishment of passport office in the district headquarters would soon bear fruit.

“Construction of the passport office is expected to be started next month,” said Mr Ahmad. He said that residents of the district wanted completion of the project as early as possible. They said that a meeting in this connection was held with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in Islamabad the other day and Amir Muqam, adviser to the prime minister, was also present on the occasion.

The passport office is likely to be established in Abdul Mastan Plaza at Swabi Adda.

“The Swabi passport office would also provide services to the people of Buner district, Ghazi, a sub-tehsil of Haripur district, and Jehangira,” said Mr Dildar.

They lauded the role played by Mr Muqam for opening of the passport office in Swabi.
