SIALKOT: Sialkot regional cricket team on Sunday defeated the visiting Greek national team by 51 runs in a friendly T-20 match played at a private stadium here.

The Greek team won the toss and elected to field first. While batting first, the Sialkot players scored 227 for 7 wickets in 20 overs.

The Greek team could make only 176 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Adeel Malik (younger brother of Pakistan star cricketer Shoaib Malik) led the Sialkot team.

Greek captain Manousis Tossos scored 100 runs and was declared man of the match.

The Sialkot Regional Cricket Association had made foolproof security arrangements on a self-help basis.

The venue of the friendly T-20 match was changed to a private ground at Sialkot from Jinnah Stadium after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had disowned the visit of the Greek players to Sialkot.

President Sialkot Regional Cricket Association Imran Toni distributed prizes among the players.
