SYDNEY: Former Test great Mike Hussey captains an experienced Australian Prime Minister’s XI announced on Monday for New Zealand’s opening tour game this week.

Cricket Australia unveiled the 12-man squad for Friday’s game and it includes batsmen Cameron Bancroft, Joe Burns, Adam Voges and Usman Khawaja as well as paceman Peter Siddle, who were all selected for this month’s postponed tour of Bangladesh, as well as Hussey’s brother David.

Bancroft, Burns, Khawaja, Voges and Siddle are all seen to have strong chances of inclusion in Australia’s squad for the first of three Tests against the Kiwis, starting in Brisbane on Nov 5.

The PM’s XI will play New Zealand in a day-night one-day match at Canberra’s Manuka Oval, using the pink ball which will also be used in the third Test at Adelaide, the world’s first day/night Test match.
