Poor security arrangements at Imambargah upset CM

QUETTA: The chief minister of Balochistan expressed concern and anger over poor security arrangements in and around an Imambargah in the Bolan district where a suspected suicide attack on Thursday evening left 11 people dead.

The chief minister ordered an inquiry into the incident in which 12 people were injured.

Presiding over a meeting that continued for two hours, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said that the incident occurred because of negligence of law-enforcement agencies.

He said that responsibility for the negligence should be fixed and action should be taken against the officials concerned.

He called for a review of the security plan made for different areas of Balochistan for Muharram. He said that the security plan be strictly implemented after removal of flaws from it.

The meeting was attended by Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chattha,

Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani, IGP Mohammad Amlish, Commissioner of Quetta Kambar Dashti and senior security officials.
