MULTAN: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has alleged that religious scholars and religious people are being victimised in the name of the National Action Plan.

He said this while addressing a workers convention here on Sunday.

“Raids are being conducted at religious seminaries and ulema are being defamed by including their names in the Fourth Schedule list,” he said.

He further said the entire community should not be treated equally because of an individual.

He also said they had not been trained by their elders to surrender before circumstances.

“If a general claims that he is loyal to the country then I am more loyal to the country as compared to him,” Fazl added.

He alleged that state organisations had promoted sectarianism in the country in the past.

“I should be called on and will tell them that under which umbrella which armed organisation is working,” he said.
