MARDAN: Jabbar police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two of the five robbers who had allegedly killed a woman during a robbery attempt here three days ago.

DSP Fazal Wahid told mediapersons that two persons identified as Niamat Gul and Israr along with their three accomplices had allegedly entered the house of one Wasil Khan and killed his wife on resistance. He said that they had taken away jewellery worth Rs200,000, one Kalashnikov, one motorcycle and five mobile sets from the house.

He said that the incident had not only shocked family members of the slain woman, but also the dwellers of the area. He said that the people had given a three-day ultimatum to the police for arrest of the perpetrators of incident.

He claimed that the police carried out the case investigation on scientific lines and arrested two of the five accused wanted in the case.
