KARACHI: Quoting Imran Khan, who she called "everyone's favourite, well-known 'Kaptaan'", TV journalist Reham Khan told a conference on Tuesday that anyone could hit a six, but the real challenge lay in sustaining a slow partnership spanning a century.
In Manchester for the International Media Conference, Reham made her first public appearance after news of her split with former cricketer and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan broke.
The former anchorperson also said she believed one's personal life should be kept private, DawnNews reported.
Speaking about the state of media in Pakistan, she lamented that laziness was a problem Pakistanis needed to grapple with, particularly in the fields of media and journalism despite the abundance of talent and the industry's rich history.
She raised the point that Pakistani media did not follow important issues as big news barely survived a day before being swept aside. She complained that the media also focused on negativity, sidelining positive news.

The TV journalist is currently producing a film, 'Janaan', which has successfully completed the first phase of shooting.
Reham and Imran made headlines last week after she announced on Twitter that she and the 'Kaptaan' had agreed to file for divorce.
The announcement stirred a fiery debate on social media, with fans and naysayers of both Khan and Reham posting their two cents and taking sides.

She talks too much. Reham should keep in mind that blaming IK does not absolve her from her responsibility. IK is not saying anything against her, but she is making statements about sixes and centuries. She thinks she should be the center of attention--ego issues, nothing else.

Why do the majority of people who make comments after reading an article even bother when they don't understand what they are reading!
Reham has not said anything bad and not even targeted Imran. In saying that "anyone can hit a six" - she could be saying something positive - as in she will not be saying anything big or headline grabbing but will take her time and build "a century" through positive work and stability. Keep in context of the situation also - which is the topic of media - and watching the Pakistani news and the way it works she may have a logical point or if you disagree may not.
Social media and these comments columns are a great but they seem to give a voice to so many undeserving of the space.

IK is a legend and will remain one even if he quits politics. A great cricketer and a great philinthropist. She was divorced earlier but who cared. All this interest is because of Ik. Whatever she was, was because of her association with Ik. People don't like their legend to insulted in such a way. But she will keep milking the issue to get attention and cash. She lied about her degree she lied about her former husband, I don't trust her. What did she do for pakistan.

The real challenge is not about hitting six or making century. It'd about playing to the situation of the game. If you are playing a 49th over and you need 12 runs. You don't need to think about century...and 19th over of odi is different from 19th over of t20. Both are played differently.

Most probably, it seems a conspiracy against IK and his party popularity. If divorce not happened just a day before the election in Punjab, chances of winning of IK party's candidates would be between 30% to 40%.

Reham is right. Hitting a six is like picking up a date, which takes only some style, charisma and initiative. Hitting a century is like a long term relationship which requires a lot more in terms of commitment, perseverance, doggedness, stamina, attitude, and sacrifice - all of which is presumably missing in Imran. Her assessment is right, but too late.

This is clearly indicative of IK's temperamental attitude towards his critics, which is a negative attribute and which should be corrected immediately. Imran has been known to be a firm and high-handed leader wishing to be empowered with no strings attached. How well do his fans know him? Very little, I believe.
