RAWALPINDI: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) on Friday started beautification of Murree Road.

It will develop two parks at Chandni Chowk and 6th Road and improve condition of Nawaz Sharif Park, Children Park at Committee Chowk and Women Park, Liaquat Bagh.

Improvement of Liaquat Bagh will start next week. The park’s boundary wall, jogging track and lawns were damaged by the metro project.

PHA director general Dr Malik Abid Mehmood told Dawn that they had sufficient funds for the beautification of Murree Road.

About the construction of the women park adjacent to the RDA offices, the PHA chief said the contractor of the metro bus project still occupied the land but would vacate it soon. He said the park would be reconstructed before the start of spring.

“The metro bus project contractor will pay the cost of the park’s reconstruction.”
