BAHAWALPUR: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) will establish its sub-office in Bahawalpur for the convenience of the local business community.
This was stated by PRA chairman Dr Raheel Siddiqui while addressing office-bearers and members of the Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) here on Friday.
Responding to the demand of BCCI president Zafar Sharif, Dr Siddiqui said the PRA’s sub-regional office (Multan region commissionerate) would be set up in the city to facilitate and redress genuine issues of BCCI members.
The BCCI has undertaken the responsibility to provide accommodation for the sub-office in the chamber’s head office where PRA’s Multan commissioner Zeeshan may visit and sit once a week to redress grievances of members.
Mr Siddiqui refused to accept the demand of owners of marriage halls for reduction in general sales tax (GST), reminding them that the rate of sales tax in the city was already less than other big cities. He motivated them to pay the sales tax honestly to the provincial government to avoid any action on non-payment of tax by PRA officials.
INAUGURATED: Punjab Minister for Cooperatives Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar and MPA Shoaib Owaisi inaugurated the prime minister’s kissan package and distributed cheques among them here on Friday.
The minister said that small land-holders in districts would be benefitted from package. Mr Owaisi said that around 14,000 farmers would benefit from the package in Saddar tehsil of Bahawalpur.
