RAWALPINDI: Woman commits suicide

RAWALPINDI, Dec 26: A woman committed suicide by hanging herself with a rope in Dhoke Khabba on Wednesday, police said.

Saleem told police that he had been married to Sajeela Bibi for 12 years and had five children. He said his wife had been depressed since her parents settled abroad.

On Wednesday, Saleem took his children to a park, but, his wife stayed at home. When he returned, he found the doors of his house locked. Despite repeated knocking, their was no response, police said.

Saleem then called his neighbours and broke open the door. On entering the house, he found his wife hanging from the ceiling. She was immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

MAN KILLED: A gardener at the Kuwait embassy was run over by a jeep of the British embassy at Foreign Office chowk on Tuesday, police said.

Mohammad Saleem, a resident of Azad Kashmir, was riding his bicycle when a speeding jeep (CD-08-74) hit him from behind, the police said.
