Ramiz launches attack on Vaughan for ‘stirring controversy’

Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja launched a stinging attack on Michael Vaughan after the ex-England skipper hinted at foul play during the 3rd Pakistan-England ODI in Sharjah.
In a series of tweets during the match on Tuesday, Vaughan wrote: “3 run outs and a few iffy shots for Pakistan… Never seen that before…!!#PAKvENG.” He followed that tweet with “They must all think we are stupid.”
Although, the England captain deleted his comments soon after, there was a storm on Twitter with many accusing Vaughan of bias towards Pakistan.
Ramiz Raja, who is a television commentator for the series, offered a particularly strong-worded response in an interview to Geo News in which he said Vaughan was seeking 'cheap publicity to stay relevant on social media.'
“Vaughan's comments are highly irresponsible and I think he is just looking for cheap publicity to stay relevant on social media,” Raja said.
“Pakistan's running has always been bad and we all know Mohammad Hafeez particularly isn't great between the wickets. The team tends to panic whenever its under pressure and it is nothing new.”
Pakistan, who won the toss in the third ODI, slumped from 132 for two to 208 all out off 49.5 overs, including three comical run-outs. England easily overcame the target, winning by six wickets.
With 2-1 down in the series, Pakistan have one last chance to avoid their ninth series loss out of 11 in the UAE (since 2009) when they play the final ODI in Dubai on Friday.
Pakistan won the first match by six wickets while England won the second by 95 runs -- both in Abu Dhabi.

none has teh talent pak has and they do anythign and everything to try to keep pak down.
we had the doosra, they started calling it chucking...
we had reverse swing, they called it ball tampering and when it was shown through physics its not, they started using 2 balls rather than one basically killing ability to reverse swing with either ball...
keep the hate coming guys, we will only get stronger.

There is a reason that Pakistan is currently sitting at such a low ranking in the ODI because they are simply not that good in that format of the game. It is that simple and I am sure Vaughan already knew that but he had to make a pathetic attempt to get the attention.

Vaughan this is cheap publicity, Pak team is in wrong hand, Captain ( Azhar Ali does not deserve to be captain) he played 3 matches and have very low average, Azhar do not know the field placing when James Tay + Buttler came to played here also Azhar did big mistake instead using Irfan + Wahab he used spinners, Azhar lost here match, no game plan, stupid decision, Azhar not captain material he has been deputed by Sharyar who have no cricket experience. We lost because we are weak and no leader.

When a world class team plays so stupid and irrational, it's quite natural to have doubts. Also, let's not forget we have had bad apples in the team in the recent past.
Ramiz Raja is an arrogant and think too highly of himself. He jumps to criticize others while he himself can't take criticism gracefully.

Vaughan is shocked how English team won 2 ODIs in a row. This tell you how patriotic British are as they don't want to give credit to their players. My question to Vaughan is what do you say about Sachin vs Warne teams cricket matches which you were part of it playing for Sachin team who lost all 3 games here in USA and you were bowled first ball of the innings. Watching your dismissal anyone can say it was fixed or you don't know how to play cricket anymore.

@TAUFIL CHOUDHRY This is what happens when clueless fans make remarks about some players being no good at odi level. The way YK was treated by media and fans alike was quite simply disgusting. Funny how since hes gone the teams gone worse. Obviously people pick up on these things such as former players and will take digs whenever they can. Dont blame others, blame yourselves. Inzamams odi average was 38, and YK was 31. Inzamam played almost double odis. What Pak need in the middle order is someone who can hold one end down, not sloggers and people who cannot bat through.

That is a meek response by Ramiz and not enough. There is no 'launching attack' here which would have been appropriate having seen what Vaughn tried to create. Vaughn has a typical White Boy Englishmen , still hurting from test defeat and resorting to cheap publicity to gain some relevance. Where's the sportsman ship now?

Even though Pakistan were woeful in all departments especially the farcical running between wickets, they were simply outclassed by a professional England side. The fielding which has improved lately was below average. My fear is that if they are finding it tough on 'home' conditions on a pitch with no seam or swing and not much spin when they batted, imagine how much worse they would be on bouncy, swinging wickes overseas! We need Misbah back as a batsman in the ODI team.
My advice is forget about your last performance - things can only get better from here.

Vaughan is wrong in suggesting foul play without and any shred of evidence or sound information. Ramiz should adopt a similar standard for Sarfraz Nawaz and Amir Sohail.

I have read what Vaughan was being bombarded with after his first ball dismissal in 3rd All Star match. Tweets like the best thing about him is that he goes in to bat and he is readily available on Twitter the next ball. And that he was never of that level ever. And many other degrading ones. Maybe such swashbuckling tweets might have provoked him into taking out his frustration and anger on the first possible thing he would find mediocre enough.

I agree with Vaughan. Something seemed very fishy with that collapse. Even if it was genuine, Pakistan have themselves to blame , 1 for the collapse itself and 2 for the controversy surrounding the spot fixing which hangs over Pakistani shoulders all the time.

Pak cricketers have only themselves to blame for such suspicion. When strong, decent characters like Misbah and Younis are missing from the team, there are reasonable doubts. Look at the behaviour of the Akmal brothers. We have a problem in our cricketing culture and we must face up to it.

Raja's reaction was too harsh.
In all fairness, without being biased if we analyse the match situation ..... this possibility cannot be ruled out what Vaughan is pointing at. 3 club level run outs.... !!!
Ramiz need to reassess his stance on various issues, here he is too harsh, about Amir he was too negative... whereas he himself was part of a team which was more or less indicted in match fixing. He did nothing to bring back international cricket back in Pak. He would not defend and say anything about Ajmal's sad exclusion for wrong reasons, though he would say its not my cup of tea, in the same context replying Vaughan's tweet should not be his cup of tea either.
