KOHAT: Hafeezur Rehman, the chief editor of a local weekly newspaper, Nawa-i-Asia, and president of the cable TV network owners association of Kohat, was shot dead in Kalo Khan Banda on Sunday.

According to police, he was going on a motorcycle to his guava orchard when men sitting in ambush opened fire on him.

The body was taken to Kohat Development Autho­rity Divisional Headquarters Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to relatives.

City police registered a case against unidentified killers on the complaint of his brother Asim Naeem. The relatives said he had no enmity with anyone.

According to AFP, 42-year-old Hafeezur Rehman had been working as a journalist for 12 years and was also employed by the Neo TV channel.
