LAHORE: Students from different colleges came together to paint the walls of Lahore during the wall street art competition on Sunday.
Street Art Pakistan is an initiative taken by the team of artists to eradicate the illegal practice of wall chalking and Reform the Walls of Pakistan by painting them with positive themes depicting the colourful stories of Pakistan.
For years Lahore's walls have scrawled with graffiti touting everything from sectarian hatred to quack cures.
Now artists and volunteers are reclaiming the walls by painting them with cheerful designs aimed at bringing some happiness and pride back to the city.

Good initiative. There was a similar one in Karachi a while back - wondering if those walls are still surviving? DAWN - A follow-up report?

Turning point, our city walls are commonly flagged by plot for sale & political support & leaders photos with there scoring points.
Master paints have done well by sponsoring colourful street art décor very much appreciated than sorry to there Dull tele advert.
Other companies regardless who they are should sponsor more causes like this. Competition will get bigger that will help surface hidden artists also brighten up the locality & society.

This is beautiful. The creator of this idea obviously loves Lahore and wants it more beautiful. I wish some one could move Lahoris to clean their city streets as well. If CM Punjab could provide huge dumpsters near every Mohalla where people could dump their trash and arrange to have it picked up daily, it will do a miracle in beautifying Lahore. Each Lahori should take charge of 10 square feet of his street and keep it clean, we will turn Lahore in to Paris within a month. I am sure Lahoris would like to do this but I request CM to pay attention to the suggestion for him in this letter.
