QUETTA: Security forces on Monday killed two suspected militants in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district.

“Security forces conducted a search operation in Totak area of Khuzdar district,” said an official from the Frontier Corps (FC).

The FC official added that during the search operation two militants were killed when they opened fire on security forces.

“Security forces also destroyed a camp and bunkers being used by the militants in the area,” added the FC official.

No casualties were reported for security forces involved in the operation.

According to the FC official, the militants killed today were involved in various incidents of target killing and bombings in the area.

Balochistan has been experiencing incident violence and targeted killings since more than a decade. The largest province of the country by area, is home to a low-level insurgency by ethnic Baloch separatists. Al Qaeda-linked militants also operate in the region.
