ISLAMABAD: The Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP) constituted a Policy Board to offer recommendations on the strategic issues of government auditing, accounting and financial management.

The 16-member board comprises of AGP Rana Assad Amin, SBP Governor Ashraf Mahmood Wathra, Secretary Finance Waqar Masood Khan, FBR Chairman Nisar Muhammad and former AGP Tanvir Ali Agha. Other members include heads of ICMAP and ICAP as well as chairman SECP.

The board would define the scope, coverage and priority areas of audit, audit approach, methodology and techniques, hiring of services of professionals for technical audit.

It would give suggestion to the government on establishing effective public financial management and adoption of international public sector auditing and accounting standards.
