What is intelligence?
THE cover story “What is intelligence?” by Sandhya Karamat Barlaas(October 31, 2015 was a good read, its best part was the “Theories of intelligence”. The concepts discussed in the article were completely new to me.

THE issue of October 31, 2015, was fun-packed with great articles and an awesome cover story. I liked the way Ms Sandhya Karamat Barlaas easily tackled the subject “What is intelligence?” which can be a very complicated one to explain. Hats off to the writer and the YW team!

“WHAT is intelligence?” by Sandhya Karamat Barlaas was a nice article and it motivated me.
While in school, we students are asked questions in the class, sadly, it often happens that I can’t answer while others can. And I thought other students are intelligent while I am not. I also felt discouraged and even thought of quitting my studies, but after reading this article I am motivated to sharpen my skills and improve my intelligence.

Career counselling
CAREER counselling plays an essential role in a student’s life as it helps them decide about their future. Students are very confused when it comes to selecting a career because this decides the course of their life.
Most schools abroad and some in Pakistan do offer their students the facility of career counselling.
Turbat, one of the main cities of Balochistan, has no such guiding or counselling centres. Students here in schools lack behind in everything, as if they are still in the dark ages even though they belong to higher classes like Intermediate, yet if their knowledge is compared to the actual degree they are holding, it will give a very different picture. Students want to study but there are no teachers, they have queries but no one answers them and when it comes to selecting a career, they are just clueless.
The government and the concerned authorities are paying no attention to this grave issue and have left the students, the future generation, on their own!

Shoaib Malik’s retirement
FORMER Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik made a comeback in the longer format of the game after five years in the first Test against England in Abu Dhabi smashing a career best 245. He has now announced his retirement from Test cricket.
We are so proud of him and his achievements.
