ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif chaired on Saturday a meeting on preparation of the two-day Heart of Asia conference being held in Islamabad next week.

Issues related to regional and national security also came under discussion during the meeting held at the Prime Minister House.

Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, National Security Adviser retired Lt Gen Nasir Janjua, ISI chief Rizwan Akhtar, Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi and senior officials attended the meeting, said a press release.

Among representatives of other countries Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and India’s Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj are expected to participate in the Heart of Asia conference.

Pakistan is co-hosting the Dec 8-9 conference with Afghanistan.
