This week, we asked our Instagram community to share photos of their favourite beach spots along the country's scenic coastline.
These are our top picks from the many fantastic photos on #DawnWeeklyProject.
1. Go zen: Somiani beach is the perfect place to practice yoga
2. Cast a line: Gwadar is fishing heaven
3. 'Do Darya' is to Karachi what Monal is to Islamabad
4. Skip that trip to the Maldives. Visit Sunehri Beach instead
5. Manora island's long sandy beaches are a great picnic spot, with landmarks worth exploring nearby
6. Combine a low-lying mountain range with the sea and you have picture-perfect 'Cape Mount'
7. If you haven't visited Hawksbay, you haven't done Karachi beaches justice
8. Sea View might not be the best beach around...but this picture had us believing otherwise!
9. Nathiagali beach is among the hardest to access, but that's exactly what makes it so perfect

And the numerous sinkholes located all over this country as hidden gems which serve as a swimmers/divers freshwater paradise for the locals. I wish that Pakistan may return to the good old days when exploring the country was safe for everyone everywhere.

I would've loved to see HD pictures of these lovely spots.
I'm convinced that Sunehri Beach is anytime better than the Maldives.
Business community should think about developing these places. Some spots represent great potential...

The writer hasn't seen Pasni, Ormara, Jewani etc. or the beaches enroute. The view from "Bay Watch Point" near a naval installation PNS AHSAN is awesome. So, is the evening view from Jewani Naval Base. I wish, a more researched article.

Beautiful pictures. Dawn thank you for sharing. Now that peace is returning to Karachi I am sure a lot and lot of people would want and no doubt will visit these beautiful beaches of Pakistan. What about the support infrastructure? Are these accessible? What about hotels and eatries? Any comments?

Pakistan has got proper sandy beaches stretching miles, with warm waters of Arabian sea. Exactly what people in Europe crave for.

I would love to add Mubarak Village Beach in this list!
One of the finest and Cleanest bit of Karachi coastline along with a Refreshing spot for Fishing is just Perfect!
And the view of Charna Islands from there is just Perfect..!

Don't die before lying on the swampy sands of Kund Malir being tranquilized by the peace surrounding you. Neither before taking deep breaths while seeing the killing charm of the brutal stones and listening to the raspy roar of waters of Gaddani.

Pakistan certainly has world's top beeches. There is an estimated 40 billion dollars yearly by World's top resort areas such as Cancun Mexico, Hawaii USA, Mazatlan Mexico, Miami Florida, Orange County California, Santa Monica California and Bora Bora and there is a long list of towns around the World that I have personally visited. These beeches generate up to $500 dollar per night at 4 to 5 star hotel rooms per night.
If Pakistan just allows world's top hotel companies to build hotels it will help the economy and generate thousands of jobs.

@John Of course you can swim in them. Don't lists to American media. There are more Anericans dying from homicides and traffic accidents then terrorism. Pakistan is a very safe place to travel.

@Sudhir Neyalasinger Sudhir, Pakistan is more safe than New York City or Los Angeles, believe it or not in America more people die from home grown crimes and traffic but Media never reports here to mentally control the citizens. Same thing in India, five hundred thousand Indians die in accidents and lack of proper care in hospitals but Media is silenced because it hurts the minds of citizens and foreign investments gets affected.

That's a great picture of Sea View. Sadly, today Sea View (and most of Karachi's beaches) look like a dump site and smell like a sewer. I wish that the govt or some concerned NGO would take upon the task of cleaning up our beaches so Karachiites can once again enjoy the one outing that nature has gifted them.

They look clean and nice because they are untouched - once open for public it will take no time fully littered with rubbish. I suggest relevant authorities should choose carefully selected beaches for public use not to disturb environment and ecological system.

Pakistan has amazing landscape and that includes the coastal areas. Taking beautiful pictures and sharing them is indeed a wonderful thing and I am pleased to see the pictures. I do have a request, PLEASE share the issues, the plight of the poor who live there and what we can do when we visit these places. We are not all made to change the world but we can ALL make a difference in small ways - please take pictures but don't forget to help or support the people who live there - their betterment will mean that these amazing places will remain intact and pristine.

Very beautiful beaches ... Need to develop infrastructure around it to boost tourism though
But of course few beaches should be kept away from rush for peace of mind
Pakistan's Economic hub has really clean beaches
Sadly we mumbaikars can't even think of entering in so polluted water ..but apart from that , beaches in Kokan Strip till south are excellent ..
Pakistan should make 2-3 beaches like that of Goa's , would generate huge revenues.

Are these beaches safe, just in the recent past some guys got drown in beaches of Karachi,there are no life guards,besides most of the guys do not swim.I think it's good to see the pics of the report,the law and order situation is at all not conducive to take a risk of picnic . Just thanks to Dawn for the pics.

@Sudhanshu Pakistan coastal line is (approximately) 1100 kilometer long, about 770 km is untouched ,clean and mostly unexploredand uncroweded, the water in summer is just warm. Visit these beaches and you will be amazed.
