Plagiarism

I WROTE a poem “My mother” which appeared in YW, September 26, 2015 issue. However, I was shocked to see the same poem “My mother” by Falisha Hussain Syed in the issue of November 14, 2015.

The writer copied every word from my poem and gave it her name. I would suggest to Ms Falisha to write a poem or article by herself rather copying others’ work. She is not only disrespecting herself but her parents too!

Nobody likes those who criticise others

THIS is with reference to the story “Nobody like those who criticise others” by Manahil Atif (YW, November 21, 2015). I really liked the story because it gave a lesson to kids who show off their status and money and think others are not worthy of anything. We should respect everyone and treat them equally.

Teaching children lessons and counselling them on various topics through stories is always the best way to make them realise what is bad and what is not, as that way they understand easily and quickly.

My most embarrassing moment

THIS is regarding the story “My most embarrassing moment” by Maham Asif (YW October 31, 2015). I liked the story because it depicted an everyday situation and how the girl misunderstood it.

YW is my favourite magazine; it is the first magazine I ever started reading and I think this is the best! Apart from that, I want to make a request to the YW team to keep us updated about the latest books just like there are websites reviews.

Outdated syllabus

IT has been 68 years since we emerged as an independent state on the world map but, unfortunately, the education sector in Pakistan has been neglected by each successive government.

The curriculum is outdated, the world has changed but our books still carry the same outdated texts and dates. It is getting difficult for our new generation to come up to the level of others in other parts of the world as we are still reading outdated stuff.

Therefore, I request the concerned authorities to change the course entirely rather than just reviewing it.

Advice

THIS is with reference to the “Get organised” in the Advice section by Hafsa Tariq Javed (YW, November 14, 2015). Though it is not a regular section, it is the one that I love the most. Advices given in this section on everyday matters in our lives are always worth appreciation. I would like to suggest to the YW team to add the’ section every week as it plays a great role in helping kids in dealing with various things.

Private school fee

THIS is apropos to the letter “Private school fee” by Sajjad K.B. (YW, November 14, 2015). I disagree with the writer, who is of the opinion that education has become a business.

Turbat is still in the Dark Ages in terms of education and other development; it is encouraging to know that due to these private schools’ education system many students have reached America and other foreign countries by receiving scholarships. Private schools are playing a very important role in educating children in a better manner than government schools.

Yes, it is the sole responsibility of our country’s government to provide us the best in education through government schools but they still haven’t done anything in this regard so private schools (if there are any) are doing their part and charging accordingly.
