Ground-breaking of DHA project

KARACHI: The commander of V Corps and president of the executive board of Defence Housing Authority, Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar, during a visit to the DHA City Karachi (DCK), performed the ground-breaking ceremony of the DHA Oasis Project.

A DHA official said on Friday that the event marked the initiation of the fast development of farm houses being built in a quiet and picturesque countryside environment of the DCK.

It was pointed out that this project was set to be completed in 30 months.

Administrator of the DHA Brig Zubair Ahmed apprised the commander of the reinvigorated development strategy of the DCK and the various initiatives recently taken by the DHA to develop DHA City Karachi as a city of international stature and to make it liveable by 2016.

The commander of V Corps later drove through various sectors of the DCK where infrastructure/sector development work was going on in full swing. He asked the DHA to ensure expeditious completion of various phases of DCK in accordance with contemporary engineering practices and urban planning concepts within the given timelines.
