RAWALPINDI: Special children paid tributes to the martyrs of Army Public School at a Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) function on Saturday.

Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ishfaq Sarwar was the chief guest on the occasion.

The event was organised in collaboration with the Punjab special education department. The children presented tableaus, folk songs, poems, speeches, folk dances and national songs.

Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab minister said the sacrifices of the martyrs would not go waste and the government would flush out terrorists from the country.

He said the purpose of this ceremony was to deliver a message to families of the martyrs that the nation was with them. Later, he distributed honorary shields to participating institutions.

Our Correspondent from Murree adds: Students of various schools of Murree presented a number of programmes in connection APS attack anniversary in collaboration of Murree Arts Council.

A large number of students of government schools, representatives of civil society, religious scholars, teachers and representatives of political parties attended the programmes.

Students presented tableaus, scripts and songs to pay tributes to the APS school children.

Speakers, including Murree Assistant Commissioner Tahir Farooq, religious scholar Qari Saif Ullah Saifi, Mirza Sohail Beg and others said the incident united nation against terrorism and it backed the armed forces in their fight against terrorist.
