LAHORE: HBL joined hands with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as title sponsor, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday during a news conference held in connection with the unveiling of the PSL logo.

With this partnership in place, the high-profile league will now be officially known as the HBL PSL.

“HBL will be the title sponsor of the first-ever Pakistan’s cricket league,” said the PCB in a statement.

Speaking on the occasion, the chairman of the HBL PSL’s governing council Najam Sethi said he wanted to thank HBL for partnering with the Board.

“When we went to the market, we knew that the time was right for distinctive brands to join us on this exciting journey and this is exactly what happened. The HBL PSL is going to be a grand event and I am particularly excited about HBL’s marketing plan for promoting this association,” he commented.

On the other hand, HBL Chief Marketing Officer Naveed Asghar said: “HBL is honored and delighted to partner with PSL to bring the largest cricketing event of Pakistan in shape of the HBL PSL.”

Sharing his thoughts on the high-profile league, HBL PSL brand ambassador Ramiz Raja said HBL PSL will be a great addition to Pakistan cricket.

He further said that the project will go a long way in nurturing the local talent apart from providing youngsters with the much-needed international exposure.

The inaugural edition of the league has until now managed an impressive roaster of top international cricketers and coaches while franchise ownership rights have already been sold for a whopping US$93 million, making it the single largest investment in any kind of sport in Pakistan.
