LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri is reaching here on Tuesday (today) morning from Canada in the wake of several challenges.

From Lahore airport, he will be taken to his residence in Model Town in the form of a procession.

The first and foremost challenge facing Dr Qadri, who had gone abroad six months ago, is to bridge the widening differences between his political outfit PAT and religious organisation Minhajul Quran.

The Minhaj, sources say, believes that the Pakistan Awami Tehreek is consuming the religious wing’s resources, including manpower, but is failing to achieve any results.

Another issue confronting him will be negating his repute of fickleness as many of his followers think that Dr Qadri may again give up political work like in the past.

His reluctance to surrender his Canadian nationality is giving credence to rumours that the PAT chief is not serious about or he does not see his future in Pakistani politics.

Had he been serious, the followers say, he would have given up his dual nationality like Chaudhry Sarwar of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

During his stay here, Dr Tahirul Qadri will mostly be participating in indoor activities except a couple of outdoor events like International Milad Conference to be held on Minar-i-Pakistan lawns.
