QUETTA: Three suspected militants were killed during an exchange of fire with security forces in Balochistan's Turbat area on Tuesday.

The security forces conducted a search operation in Darchako area of Turbat and killed three miscreants, the Frontier Corps (FC) spokesman said.

A cache of weapons and explosives was also recovered during the operation, he added.

The spokesman said the suspected militants belonged to a banned militant organisation operating in the area.

Elsewhere, the FC personnel also apprehended four militants and recovered arms from their possession in Balochistan's Dalbandin area.

The apprehended insurgents were involved in attacks at levies personnel, stated to the spokesman.

In another incident, one FC soldier was injured in an improvised explosives device (IED) explosion in Quetta's Marwar area.

The injured soldier was rushed to Quetta for medical treatment, while two FC vehicles were also damaged during the attack.
