KARACHI: The Pakis-tan Election Commission (PEC) has announced postponement of local councils elections in Badin and Sanghar districts and indirect elections to the seats of councils, committees and corporations which were earlier fixed for Dec 30, 2015 by a notification of Dec 11 and 14 and for the indirect elections by the notifications dated Dec 16 and 17.

According to a notification issued on Wednesday, a new polling date would be fixed after visible improvement in the law and order situation in the two districts while for indirect elections after finalisation of arrangements for administration of oath by the elected members.

However, according to sources, the elections in other districts of Sindh where elections were postponed due to death of the candidate or on the seats where no nominations were filed and in the constituencies where elections could not be held due to order of the apex court for re-delimitations, would be held according to the schedule.
