SANGHAR: Two brothers and one of their relatives died after consuming contaminated liquor in Laqaullah Narejo village of Jam Nawaz Ali taluka in Sanghar district on Thursday.

According to villagers, Anbhoo, Diyalo, Arjun and Popat — all belonging to the Kolhi community — fell unconscious after consuming home-made liquor which appeared to have toxic effect on them.

Two of them, Anbhoo and Diyalo, died before they could be provided any medical treatment and the other two victims were rushed to the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital, they said.

Anbhoo’s brother, Arjun, died at the hospital, where doctors described Popat’s condition as serious.

The victims were peasants by profession, Nauabad SHO Aslam Bilo said, adding that the actual cause of the three person’s death was yet to be determined.
